Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

Job Description
About the Role
We're a YC-backed AI developer tools startup (11–50 people, Seed stage) building intelligent AI agents that transform complex technical documentation into accurate, trustworthy self-serve experiences. Our platform helps technical companies deploy AI-powered assistants that answer product questions instantly — reducing support load and accelerating user onboarding.
We're looking for a hands-on Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our small, high-impact engineering team. You'll work closely with the founding team and research engineers to scale our RAG engine, expand our analytics platform, and deepen integrations with a wide range of technical data sources. Your work will be visible, meaningful, and shipped quickly.
What You'll Do
Work directly with the founding team and research engineers to define and implement features end-to-end.
Scale the backend infrastructure powering our Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) engine using Python.
Experiment with and build new features in our analytics platform (React + Python).
Develop and maintain client integrations used to deploy the product for customers (React + Python).
Enable access to new kinds of data sources through Python-based ingestion pipelines.
Maintain and improve our React SDK.
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
3+ years of full-stack software engineering experience building complex systems with both Python backend and React frontend.
Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Demonstrated experience building AI assistants or NLP-driven applications.
Hands-on experience with machine learning, deep learning, and LLMs.
Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
Strong CS fundamentals — degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice-to-haves:
Prior experience in a startup environment.
A marker of excellence: work at a recognized technology company, published research, significant open-source contributions, or a notable side project.
Familiarity with natural language processing techniques and tooling.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 USD annually
Visa sponsorship: Available
Location
This role is fully remote, with a primary location preference around Berlin, Germany. Candidates based in or able to work from Germany, Denmark, or the United Kingdom are particularly welcome.
