Solution Delivery Competence Lead
European Union; Ukraine · Posted 1h ago
Job Description
N-iX is a global software development service company that helps businesses across the globe create next-generation software products. Founded in 2002, we unite 2,400+ tech-savvy professionals across 40+ countries, working on impactful projects for industry leaders and Fortune 500 companies. Our expertise spans cloud, data, AI/ML, embedded software, IoT, and more, driving digital transformation across finance, manufacturing, telecom, healthcare, and other industries. Join N-iX and become part of a team where your ideas make a real impact.
Mission:
We are scaling solution-based and fixed-price delivery, where we own the process, the estimate and the budget — not the client. Today every such project depends on the individual skill of whoever is assigned, and it is not consistent from project to project and is not scalable. We need someone who will help us fix this by delivering these projects themselves first, then turning what worked into practice the rest of our PMs can use.
Where this leads:
If you have run solution delivery in a bigger firm, the ceiling is usually the same: the methodology was handed to you, and the only promotion available is to stop doing the work and start managing managers. Here you lead the development of competence and methodology. At the start, you deliver a couple of such projects yourself, because you cannot codify what you have not done here. Afterwards you focus on building and scaling competence.
Success has one measure: other project managers using templates and blueprints to deliver on time, on budget, with GenAI built in and clients who would hire us again. Across the portfolio, not just the projects you touched. That is what we mean by Solution Delivery Competence.
What you will do:
First month. Map what already exists. Which of our PMs have delivered solution-based projects, what artifacts and processes they use, what actually gets used versus what sits in a wiki, and what you would keep. This is a deliverable, not an onboarding period.
Then, 6–12 months — you deliver. One-two solution projects, typically $500K–$1M, run concurrently. On each you own:
- The estimate and its commercial framing
- Planning process, project baseline, scope management strategy.
- Core team formed and staffed before kickoff
- The project P&L: committed cost, committed margin
- Boundaries, assumptions, and risk management
- Governance that operates without reminders — cadence, metric baseline, escalation path
- Implement AI-driven process optimizations (skills, integrations, reports, risk management)
You leave when the team is genuinely on board, all processes have been established, replacement is hired.
After that — you build the PM Task Force and own practice development and maintenance. Turn the patterns from N-iX projects into the N-iX Solution Delivery Runbook — reusable estimation models, staffing patterns, governance templates, tools, and accelerators. Together with Task Force members, you gather, pilot, and implement successful practices from real projects, then scale them across the company. Ideally, every new project should be set up so the team can start delivering value from the first week, rather than spending that time on setup activities.
You'll also be responsible for driving AI adoption and optimization for PM practices.
Throughout — you advise. Two standing services, capped so they cannot swallow the role. They stay small in year one while you are delivering, and grow as the practice work starts.
- Projects in crisis. When a project is going wrong, you go in, diagnose it, and hand back a plan with a named owner. You do not take the project over — that is a separate call, made by the VP of Delivery, and it resets everything else you are committed to. Weeks, not months.
- Pre-sale, the delivery side only. You will work in a close cooperation with Solution Lead (typically, a technical person/architect) to validate if we will be able to deliver what we are about to promise to customers
Requirements:
Must have:
- Delivered solution-based or fixed-price software projects end-to-end, personally accountable for scope, timeline and profitability
- At least one delivered project with a budget of $5M or above
- Set projects up from before kickoff: estimation, staffing calibration, governance, client reporting cadence
- Technical enough to challenge an estimate or a technical proposal on substance
- Worked in a services or outsourcing company, with external paying clients
- Hands-on use of AI tools and accelerators in a real delivery context, and a considered view on what they change about estimation, progress reporting and verification
Must be:
- Willing to hand a project over and leave it. Repeatedly. If you need to own an account long-term, this is the wrong role
- Open to what already works here. You are not starting from zero, and the people whose practice you will codify are still in the company. We will ask you what you would keep, not what you would fix
- Balance between maximizing our chances of winning the lead and ensuring a structured approach to how delivery should be organized
Nice to have:
- Experience with AI DLC implementation
- Distributed teams across multiple countries
- European and US based clients
- Mentoring or community-building experience
We offer*:
- Flexible working format - remote, office-based or flexible
- A competitive salary and good compensation package
- Personalized career growth
- Professional development tools (mentorship program, tech talks and trainings, centers of excellence, and more)
- Active tech communities with regular knowledge sharing
- Education reimbursement
- Memorable anniversary presents
- Corporate events and team buildings
- Other location-specific benefits
