We are on the lookout for a Data Engineer II - (Adtech) to join the Ads Data Platform team on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences. 

AdTech tribe is a geographically distributed tribe of 16+ squads. We are here to build high-available advertisement solutions for the local delivery market. Our solutions are helping our vendors to attract and retain clients as well as helping users of our platforms to open new tastes and find new favorite dishes. Our solutions are running globally from LATAM to APAC and serving out clients via mobile and web applications. We deploy often and move quickly with self-sufficient cross-functional squads that work collaboratively according to the “we build it, we run it” principle. We optimize our solutions for high load and high reliability, high availability and low latency. We leverage microservices architecture principles and patterns, micro-frontends, inner-sourcing, batch and streaming data processing.

As part of our Vendor Team, you’ll be the driving force behind the success of thousands of restaurants, shops, and local businesses. Your contributions will empower vendors with advanced tools to manage their operations, boosting their visibility and reach. Every feature you help build will create growth opportunities for businesses of all sizes, strengthening Delivery Hero’s ecosystem and impact.

In this role you will 

  • Build and maintain ELT pipelines serving analytics requirements across the AdTech tribe Design and evolve analytics data models in dbt,  with tests, documentation and clear ownership
  • Run your pipelines in production: monitoring, alerting, incident response and follow-up fixes
  • Improve data quality and observability tooling, freshness and volume checks, data contracts, lineage
  • Contribute to CI/CD workflows for data: automated testing, staged deployments, code review
  • Contribute to technical proposals and prototypes, and help reduce technical debt
  • Review your peers code and help improve the squad's engineering standards
  • Around 3–5 years building and operating production data pipelines Strong SQL,  window functions, query performance, modelling for analytical workloads
  • Solid proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages Python, Java, Go
  • Hands-on experience with dbt or a comparable transformation / semantic-layer tool
  • Experience with a workflow orchestrator such as Airflow, Dagster or Prefect Experience with cloud-based data ecosystems such as AWS (S3, Kinesis, DynamoDB) and GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow)
  • A pragmatic, collaborative approach: you scope sensibly, ask for input early, and care that work actually lands
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice to have

  • Experience in AdTech, marketplaces or another high-volume event domain
  • Familiarity with containerisation — Docker, Kubernetes Exposure to stream processing such as Apache Flink or Kafka Streams
