Purpose of the role

To support Wholesale Lending with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support with day-to-day Wholesale Lending initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution through lending technical expertise.
  • Monitoring the bank’s lending operations to ensure that they are conducted in an efficient and effective manner and comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate Wholesale Lending processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in Wholesale Lending processes.
  • Development and implementation of Wholesale Lending procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on Wholesale Lending performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Wholesale Lending Services.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve Wholesale Lending efficiency and effectiveness.

Join Barclays as a Settlements & Servicing Analyst, where you will support the Loan Trading Settlements team with the day-to-day processing, review and resolution of loan trading activity.

In this role, you will work closely with trading desks, internal teams, clients and counterparties to manage settlements, asset servicing, reconciliations and trade lifecycle queries in a technical environment, helping to minimise settlement risk, resolve discrepancies and maintain strong operational controls within a regulated investment banking environment.

To be successful as a Settlements & Servicing Analyst, you should have:

  • Experience within investment banking operations, ideally supporting credit or loan asset classes specifically or other asset classes more generally, trading desks, settlements, asset servicing or reconciliation activity.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to investigate breaks, resolve discrepancies, review data accurately and identify operational risks.
  • Good understanding of reconciliations, financial products or recognised financial services processes, with FX, securities, derivatives or loan products being beneficial.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with trading desks, internal teams, clients and counterparties.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced operational environment while maintaining strong risk, control and regulatory standards.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Reconciliation experience, particularly within banking, trading operations, settlements or financial services environments.
  • Exposure to loan operations, FX, derivatives, securities, or trade lifecycle processes.
  • Experience working in a technical or data-driven environment, with the ability to use systems, data and reporting tools to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Exposure to change, process improvement, control enhancement or operational transformation activity.

This role is based in Glasgow, with a hybrid working model of working a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
