The Head of Specialty Care Financial Planning, Performance, and Launch Excellence is a senior finance executive and key member of the Specialty Care Finance Leadership Team, reporting directly to Ulrich Otte, Head of Specialty Care Finance, Planning & Performance, and Launch Excellence. This role is central to all operational, strategic, planning, and financial analytics for the Global Specialty Care Business Unit — a €25B+ GBU with 7,800+ employees and 40+ products.
This individual will provide executive leadership with meaningful and insightful financial analysis related to business operations, new growth opportunities, and existing performance trends against operating plans. In addition, this role will lead and support Launch Excellence as a key member of the cross-functional Launch Excellence framework, alongside senior leaders within the Specialty Care Lead Team.

Main Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
Oversee and coordinate Finance Business Partners (FBPs) globally to ensure efficient, timely, and relevant consolidation of Specialty Care forecasts, including Quarterly Piloting, Risk & Opportunities, Financial Forecasts, and Budgets
Lead the annual budget process and Strategic Planning (StratPlan) exercise in close connection with corporate and Specialty Care Strategy Teams, ensuring consistency of data, robustness of assumptions, and optimal resource allocation
Own short-term reforecasting processes including Quarterly Landing, C1/C2, and rolling forecasts for the Specialty Care organization
Ensure financial planning outputs are aligned with enterprise-wide priorities and GBU strategic objectives
Financial Performance Management & P&L Ownership
Own full P&L management for the Specialty Care GBU and serve as process owner of business reviews chaired by the GBU Head
Deliver holistic financial performance reviews in close collaboration with Franchises, Business Support, M&S, and R&D
Develop and track financial KPIs, metrics, and leading/lagging indicators of operational performance
Enhance and develop driver-based and ROI frameworks to support investment decision-making and capital allocation
Strategic Finance & Business Development Support
Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Specialty Care Lead Team, informing and guiding decision-making through innovative and insightful analysis
Lead the Financial StratPlan exercise ensuring consistency of data and robustness of assumptions across strategic planning scenarios
Participate in strategic and Business Development (BD) projects on an ad hoc basis, delivering financial due diligence and integration support
Launch Excellence & Dynamic Resource Allocation
Lead the Specialty Care Finance organization for Launch Excellence, serving as a key member of the cross-functional Launch Excellence framework in collaboration with the SPC Strategy and GTMC organization
Establish Best-in-Class launch financial capabilities to support 19 new product launches within the next 6 years (B12 pipeline)
Drive Dynamic Resource Allocation (DRA) activities, ensuring agile and efficient deployment of financial and operational resources to maximize launch success and ROI
Engage with senior leadership and guarantee full cross-functional alignment with strategic priorities
Digital Transformation & AI-Enabled Finance
Serve as the key GBU stakeholder for digital transformation and AI acceleration within the Global Specialty Care Finance organization
Champion adoption of AI, advanced analytics, and digital tools across forecasting, reporting, and launch planning in collaboration with the Head of AI and Digital for Finance
Leadership & Talent Development
Serve as a member of the North America Regional Finance Council (RFC), supporting and advocating for continued talent development across the North America Finance organization

About You
Basic Qualifications:
15+ years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry
10+ years of experience focused in Financial Planning & Analysis
Proven track record in global business partnering, full P&L management, and financial planning within complex, matrixed global organizations
Demonstrated experience presenting and reporting to boards, committees, and C-suite executives, including CEOs and GBU Heads
Proficiency in AI-enabled financial tools and platforms (e.g., Plai), financial systems, and data-driven decision-making
Strong track record of translating financial insights into actionable business strategies
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep expertise in launch excellence financial frameworks and Dynamic Resource Allocation (DRA)
Experience leading digital transformation initiatives within a global finance organization
Strong executive presence with the ability to build compelling financial narratives and influence decision-making at the highest levels
Progressive, forward-thinking leader who balances strategic vision with operational rigor — able to zoom out for the big picture and dive into detail when necessary
Collaborative and results-driven, with the ability to build consensus while driving accountability across diverse, global teams
Flexible and adaptable, with strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-stakes workstreams simultaneously

The salary range for this position is:
$247,500.00 - $357,500.00All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs, and additional benefits information can be found here.
