Job Description
Your mission Everyone's talking about AI. We decide how it actually gets used across the company. A $400 billion market. A profitable scale-up rethinking it with AI and a global freelance network. And in the middle of it, a team that doesn't primarily write code - it decides what AI should actually deliver: for more than 25,000 Talents in over 70 countries, through automation and smarter processes. We're looking for you as a Working Student (f/m/d) Strategy & Business Development for our cross-functional strategic taskforce, based at our headquarters in Munich-Schwabing. You'll work at the intersection of strategy, business and AI - as a sparring partner for AI engineers, product and operations experts, and a former BCG consultant. Not as another engineer on the team, but as the person who makes sure the team builds the right thing. This isn't a typical working student role for techies. You'll structure problems, build business cases, evaluate AI applications from a business perspective, and translate between what's technically possible and what's strategically right. The concepts you work on don't end up in a drawer - they get prototyped, discussed, and feed directly into our leadership team's decisions. What You'll Actually Do AI strategy, not AI code: You'll work on strategic AI initiatives like our Talent Assistant or AutoQA 2.0 (AI-based voice file analysis) - not as a developer, but as someone who structures requirements, sets priorities, and turns early ideas into solid feature concepts. Our AI engineers handle the technical build; you make sure they're building the right thing. Ideas become decisions: You'll analyze complex questions, build business cases using classic case logic, and develop decision-making material for our leadership team. Your analysis directly influences which AI initiatives get greenlit. AI needs structure: Large language models are only as good as the data behind them. You'll define competency frameworks and evaluation logic that make our AI systems smarter - the content logic, not the technical implementation. Your own projects, real ownership: You'll independently own topics from first analysis to first concept - a new AI use case, a workflow that's still manual today, an automation, a new approach. The content changes; the standard doesn't. You get responsibility, not just tasks. Working where the leverage is highest: You'll support the team wherever the most interesting strategic questions are emerging right now. That means variety, high speed, and visible impact. Why This Role Will Accelerate Your Growth Here, you won't learn to code - you'll learn how to evaluate AI investments, build business cases that hold up in front of leadership, and structure complex topics so they turn into measurable business impact. It's the exact craft you'll later need in strategy consulting or corporate strategy - except here, the recommendation actually gets implemented instead of ending up in a slide deck. You'll work closely with a former BCG consultant, AI engineers, and product experts, moving daily between strategy, business judgment, and AI. Our last working student in this role went on to join us as a trainee - not because we promise it, but because she'd already taken on real responsibility during her time with us. Your skillset Academic background: You're currently pursuing a Master's degree (business administration, economics, industrial engineering, or comparable) and already bring some practical experience - ideally with a strategic or analytical focus. AI-savvy, not an AI engineer: You don't need to code or build models. But you use AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT as a power user for research, analysis, and structuring - and you understand how AI changes business processes. More important than deep technical knowledge: you can identify what problem an AI use case is actually meant to solve. Skills: You structure complex issues cleanly and are confident enough in PowerPoint and Excel to put together compelling management presentations and business cases. Mindset: You don't wait for someone to explain the next step. You dig into new topics on your own, think entrepreneurially, and want to develop solutions rather than just work through tasks. Language skills: You communicate and present fluently in German and English, and naturally bring a healthy sense of humor. Availability: You have 16–20 hours per week during the semester to work on-site at our Munich headquarters, with flexible scaling up to full-time during semester breaks. Your winning deal Your opportunity: From day one, you'll contribute to one of the company's most strategic AI initiatives and help build solutions that improve the daily work of thousands of people. Your mentor: Work closely with a former BCG consultant who will coach, challenge, and support your development. Your network: Collaborate every day with AI Engineers, Product, Strategy, and Operations experts - exposure that's rarely found in traditional work
